76th Tree Lighting at Rockefeller Center

The 76th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony takes place
on December 3, 2008 from 7-9 p.m. The annual event is televised and features musical performances from a variety of popular artists. Typically, the Radio City Rockettes perform and there are also ice skaters performing in the Rockefeller Ice Rink.

Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Location is located the center of the complex of buildings between 47th and 50th Streets and 5th and 7th Avenues.
Closest Subways to Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree: B/D/F/V to 47-50 Sts/Rockefeller Center or the 6 to 51st/Lexington.
Tree is Illuminated: Wednesday, December 3, 2008
Tree Comes Down: January TBD, 2009
Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Hours: The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is typically illuminated from 5:30 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. daily, except on Christmas and New Year's Eve. On Christmas, the tree is illuminated for 24 hours and on New Year's Eve the lights are turned off at 9:00 p.m.

NY: The famous celebration at Rockefeller Center takes place Dec. 3, 7-9 p.m.

If you can't be part of the crowd that night, watch from home on TV or stop by in person later in the season.


In Washington, D.C., the National Christmas Tree on the Ellipse will be lit Dec. 4.
Tickets for the ceremony have already been distributed, but you can see it through Jan. 1.
On Dec. 2 at 5 p.m., the Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony takes place on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol.

If you're celebrating Christmas in California, stop by the 100-foot fir tree at The Grove in Los Angeles, which was lit Nov. 23, and is decorated with 10,000 lights and 15,000 ornaments.

The drama traces the Job-like vigil of Florentino Ariza, who waits for more than half a century to claim the hand of Fermina Daza, the woman he loves. Directed by Mike Newell, and featuring a talented cast that includes Javier Bardem, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Benjamin Bratt, Laura Harring, Giovanna Mezzogiorno and John Leguizamo.

Love In the Time of Cholera is scheduled for Nov. 16, 2007 release.

GOOD, the magazine for people who “give a damn,” will bring its popular Choose GOOD party to Washington, DC’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden on September 7, 2007 from 7 p.m. to midnight. This DC event will mark the first party in the series of events celebrating the publication’s 1-year anniversary.

Twelve hundred Choose GOOD subscribers are expected to attend the party, which will feature music, art, and festivities including DJ sets by Thievery Corporation’s Eric Hilton, Dave Nada, Will Eastman and Jacques Renault. Additionally, the audiovisual artist group sosolimited will be showing a custom video presentation on-site.
